God is in the French Fries

I’m getting ready to head out the door to go on another road trip (seriously one of my favorite things ever), so today’s post may be shorter than normal.  I haven’t written posts ahead this month and have really just gotten up each morning to write them for the most part, so please excuse the chaos.  I dearly hope you’re intrigued by the title of this post because it’s one of the best ones I’ve come up with so far (in my humble opinion).

Lions & Lizards & Lies (8/12)

It’s Tuesday again, so if you’ve been following me for a least a week, you know what that means! 😉 If you’re new, every Tuesday, I post my notes from church on Sunday.  I’m a part of the Elevation Church eFam, and I like to share my notes so that those who haven’t had time to watch the sermon can still stay in the loop!  I actually had the opportunity to make the trip to Charlotte, North Carolina this past weekend and experience the beginning of the new series, Triggered, which was so awesome! I also live-streamed it Sunday, which you can also do via this link.

Another Update/Road Trippin’ Part 5

I normally try to do a devotional post on Mondays, but last week and this week, I’ve been more in the “update” mode.  Perhaps it’s because I haven’t written all these posts out ahead of time like I did previously this summer.  You may notice that this post isn’t coming out in the 9 o’clock hour, as I aim for my posts to normally do.  That’s because this has been a spur-of-the-moment week this week.  Incredibly spontaneous, it’s been a week juxtaposing “Be still” and “Go”.

A Raw Update on What’s Been Going On

In my early teenage years, I had a personal, everyday encounter with what it meant to be a hypocrite.  Someone close to me hurt me continually, verbally and emotionally, when I was with her, but then when out with her friends would be all syrupy sweet.  It sickened me, and I resolved to be honest and genuine myself.  I know it’s always easier to see someone else’s flaws over your own, so I make it a point to work on in myself whatever bothers me about others.  I believe it was Gandhi that had the same idea: “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

A Mint Chocolate Word from God

We have a couple of freezers at my house.  One sits inside, in the kitchen.  It is easily accessible to me in my everyday life when I need food.  Another sits out in the garage; it’s further away and I don’t use it as often.  It’s simply not convenient.

Ice cream was on sale at our local grocery store this week.  My mom called to see what flavors we wanted, and my dad and I answered.  I requested mint chocolate chip, but my dad insisted we already had that.  I argued.  I didn’t see it.  I checked the freezer again.  “See?!” I pointed out.  “I can’t find it.  We don’t have it.”   Continue reading “A Mint Chocolate Word from God”

Guest Post: Hope from Hope for the Animals

I am SUPER excited about today’s guest blogger! She holds a special place in my heart, as she is my youngest sister.  She is mature beyond her years and I love seeing her grow and serving God alongside her.  Recently, God downloaded a word into her about her identity, and it is so powerful! She let me post it today because she believes that this word is not just for her; it’s for all Christians.  This is who God says we are! After you’re done reading, please be sure to check out her blog, which is all about making sure pets are receiving proper care.  She does lots of research to post every week, and is passionate in her love for animals.

Not Going Back

In Sunday school the other weekend, my class and I were talking about the advances in technology over the past 100 years: about how people used to ride in horses and buggies, then cars and airplanes and space shuttles.   Continue reading “Not Going Back”
