Hello! I realize I haven’t posted much of anything discussing racism and its effects on my country lately. This doesn’t stem from ignoring it; I’ve been doing my research and having conversations personally and privately and wanted to have a good foundation of that before doing anything publicly. Also, I just haven’t been posting on my blog as much anyway because my life has been very busy, so please know it has not been my intention to overlook or remain silent on this issue.
I’ve been reading through Proverbs in the Passion Translation and have been struck by how many times it says to stand up for justice, for righteousness, and to plead the cause of those whose voices have been silenced. It has comforted my heart to see how much God sees and cares for the people that people forget. I highly recommend you read through Proverbs as well, as it has great advice for acquiring wisdom, justice, and favor in your life.
I also wanted to take a moment and recommend some things that I have found to be eye-opening and good at explaining in this hour. I hope that you can find something that perhaps answers a question you have or gives a new perspective you haven’t seen before, as it did for me. There’s a lot to do, but there’s a lot of hope as well, and that has encouraged me.
I also wanted to recommend the movie “Just Mercy“. It’s PG-13 but a true story and a powerful watch that left my family and I speechless and in tears.
I hope these resources are helpful to you and provide you with hope and motivation for change as well. Thanks for stopping by!
