My writing has been pretty sporadic as summer ends and school starts back, so I just wanted to hop on here and explain myself. 🙂
Summer this year was fast and full; I traveled around the southeastern United States to Charlotte and New Orleans and went to Peru, we moved my younger sister away to college, I’ve read several books, and I’ve been researching online colleges for myself. I’ve decided I want to major in Anthropology, because I’ve always loved learning about people–their histories, their cultures, the art they make, and the languages they speak. I love learning and know that I could study anything, but if I’m going to be spending the effort to earn a college degree, I’d like to study something that I love learning about.
I had the epiphany yesterday that perhaps the reason that Anthropology interests me so much is because heaven will be diverse and people from every tribe, tongue, and nation will bow to the Name of Jesus, and if I’m going to be bowing with them and spending eternity alongside them, I’d like to get to know them now. I’d like to use this study to become a better missionary and to understand people better, to be more understanding, culturally-aware, and sensitive.
So, things have been a little crazy around here. I’m notorious for being behind in my journal-writing, so I’d really like to catch up in that from my wild summer, and I’d love to take time to make a scrapbook of pictures from Peru. I’m looking to enroll in a college and start studies, but I want to keep it online so I can continue to travel spontaneously. All of these things come together to make it hard to consistently blog, but I love doing this, so I’m trying to be as faithful as possible.
Thanks for reading and following along on this journey with me! I’ve hit some cool milestones on the blog this month–officially reaching over 100 countries that have visited my blog, having views from every continent except Antartica in one day, and breaking my own record for the most countries to visit my blog in one day (I’m now at 13, I believe)! Please keep on sharing this with your friends; it encourages me to see that perhaps my writing encourages y’all. 🙂
