The Hope Cycle

I hope you all had a lovely Mother’s Day weekend! This weekend in church, Holly Furtick gave a word to encourage mothers.

We began worship with “Gone” by Elevation Worship, a newer song of theirs that has yet to be released on YouTube.  We followed that with a new favorite song of mine, “Raise a Hallelujah” by Bethel Music.  We then had a special tribute for Mother’s Day, followed by an announcement about the eFam reunion on July 20th–if you follow Elevation Church online and want to visit in person, consider going on that day! Then we continued worship with “It Is So”, another unreleased song from Elevation Worship, followed by “There is a Cloud“.  After an announcement about Reflect, a ladies event at Elevation, being on September 5th, Holly began teaching.

My notes read:

  • Romans 5:1-5
  • Hope Cycle: Hope–>Sufferings–>Perseverance–>Character–>Hope
  • Each time you go through the cycle, your hope is strengthened from the memory of how God brought you through before.
  • John 9:1-3
  • God will not be constrained by our formulas; He is so much bigger than cause-and-effect.
  • Colossians 1:27
  • The question is not Can God change my situation?, the question is Do I trust Him?

They were also giving away mugs for Mother’s day.

Much love,
