January Favorites

Here’s a list of things I’ve been enjoying in this past month!

Music:

I’d never heard the first part of this song combo–“Faith and Wonder”–but as I was listening to it I instinctively knew the words in my spirit, as if I had written it myself.  I’ve pretty much listened to it every day since I first came across it.  I love it! I really, really want to visit this church this year.

This is another song I’ve had on repeat throughout this month, and it’s really been an encouragement with everything I’ve gone through this month.

Okay so just don’t even be surprised that Upperroom music is on this list several times this month! 🙂 This is another song I keep playing throughout the day and sing all the time to remind myself of its truth.

The lyrics of this song are SO POWERFUL and this version of it is just so mesmerizes my heart and spirit.

I try not to keep putting this song on the list because I dislike repeating myself and want y’all to have new content, but this song does not go off my playlist, and it’s truth has really resonated through my January.

The power, the passion, the heart behind this song–it gets me every time.  I was a part of praying over the little boy that this song was written out of the testimony of praying for his healing, so it’s so personal to me.  Like “Faith and Wonder” above, I just knew this song immediately as I first listened to it; I so connected to it and have just loved listening to it this month.

Okay I know I have so many songs this month, and this is another one I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, but I haven’t stopped singing it.  It’s become an anthem for me, even.  It really brings me peace–I mean, God brings peace, but He uses this song.

Books:

The New Waterproof Amazon Kindle Paperwhite: I got this for Christmas and have loved it! It arrived with about 50% battery power, so I drained that and charged it back up again and that’s the only time I’ve charged it since I got it a month ago.  I haven’t read on it everyday, but I’ve read 3-4 books on it, so that may give you an idea of how great the battery life is.  I love that you can change the lighting, font size, etc on it, and that it’s waterproof! You can store audiobooks on it also but have to use bluetooth headphones or earbuds to listen to them as there is no headphone jack.

And that’s it! I really haven’t read a lot of books this month, just dabbling in different ones at the same time and not finishing any yet.  I’ve spent most of my time writing and journalling, so book reviews might be getting more scarce.  I’ve picked back up my college studies, so my time is really stretched thin.

Much love,
