I try to post book-related things on Wednesdays, and I haven’t finished a book this week, so I don’t have one to post about specifically, but I decided to write a post about what I’m currently reading and what I’m looking forward to reading next. I usually do this just at the end/beginning of a year, but since summer’s a great time for reading, it’s always useful to know some good books to pick up.
What I’m Currently Reading:
I’m a big fan of the time period in Jane Austen’s novels and Poldark, and I watched the movie of FFTMC, so I was intrigued to read the book. I actually have the audio version, so I get to listen to someone read it in a wonderful British accent. It’s very relaxing 🙂 and I’m finding that the movie followed the book quite closely after all!
I’m really interested in learning more about God and hearing from Him in all the ways He speaks, so when I saw this book on sale for 99 cents a few weeks ago, I got it. I’m about halfway through it right now and it’s fairly interesting, but I think it’s actually supposed to be a study guide to another book, which I don’t have. Whoops.
If you check out my “Currently Reading” widget on my blog, either on the side bar or down below this post, depending on if you’re reading on a computer or mobile device, you’ll notice that I’m also reading a couple of geography books. I’m doing a method of college where I study the subject on my own at home, in my own time, and then go and take a test that’s basically like the final exam for the subject. If I pass it, I get credit for the college class and can transfer the credit to a college to be exempt from taking the class. If you’re interested in more details about how I do that, leave a comment about it and I’ll look into doing a post about it later.
What I’m Looking Forward to Reading:
I’ve heard so many good things about this book and I have an audiobook copy of it, so just as soon as I finish listening to FFTMC, I think I’ll get started on this.
I read this author’s previous book with my best friend and absolutely fell in love with her message and style of writing. I look forward to starting this latest release from her! I bought it on kindle for $10 but as I went to grab the link for this post, I saw that it’s only $3 on kindle now! I’m not sure how long this deal will last, so you may want to check it out sooner rather than later!
I’ve seen this book all across my social media and fellow readers that have mentioned it, and I only hear good things about it, so I bought it for myself to read. My main hold-up is deciding whether to read this book or Dance Stand Run first! 🙂
Ah, I always love a book by Jody Hedlund! This is a continuation of her YA medieval series, which has only gotten better with each book so far, so I’m looking forward to diving into this one.
I’ve got a long car trip coming up and am planning to read this on it, which combines two of my favorite things: travel and a book by MaryLu Tyndall. She writes fantastic historical romances, her most popular being her pirate series, inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean and full of just as much action. I love how exciting her books are and how well she weaves in elements of her faith to make it an encouraging and inspiring read as well as an entertaining one. I’m actually hosting her here on my blog in a couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled!
Hopefully that will help anyone who’s also looking for something good to read! Let me know if you’ve read any of these before or if you know of any other books you think I’d like! I’m always open to hear about a good book.
