honeysuckle dreams

honeysuckle dreams by Denise Hunter is the second book in the Blue Ridge Romance series, following Blue Ridge Sunrisewhich you can read my review of here

This book had somewhat of an unusual plot–it’s a modern-day marriage of convenience between two best friends.  While I didn’t care for the fact that initially their engagement was based off a falsehood, it did develop quickly into truly caring for and liking each other as more than friends.  This was a sweet story of friendship and family.

I really liked how one of the characters struggled with anxiety and fear, because I do think that’s a common thing in society today.  The author did lead the character through counseling and talking with friends to conquer the fear and anxiety, but I personally wish there would have been a little more emphasis on God and how He calms our fears (in addition to medication and counseling, if not in place of).

Overall, I would recommend this book.  I read it over a weekend and it was a pleasant, summery read.
