Memorial Day

As today is Memorial Day, I wanted to take a moment to pause and thank our nation’s veterans for their service.  I am very grateful to them and their families for the sacrifices they’ve made.  My heart aches for those who have lost loved ones, and my prayers are constantly with our service members.

While I’m taking a moment to express my gratitude to those who gave up their lives in order for me to have the freedom to live this life, I am also want to say that I am so grateful to Jesus, who gave up His life in order for me to be free from sin and have eternal life with Him.

“So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.” John 8:36

It is one thing to have and enjoy the freedoms of our nation, and another altogether to have freedom spiritually.  Freedom from sin and relationship with Christ is something that is not limited by political boundaries!  It extends beyond this world and this life into life eternal with God.  And for that, I am thankful.
