Some of My Favorite Songs

In the theme of getting to know me better, I wanted to share some of my favorite songs.  These songs are ones that encourage me, get stuck in my head, comfort me, but that I haven’t heard often in church, so I wanted to share them with you.

“Pieces” by Bethel Music

I absolutely love this song because of all the attributes of God’s love that it highlights.  When I really focus on each attribute and what it means and what the implications of them are for me and my life, it never fails to amaze me.  How deep and wide and great is the love of God for me!

“Look How He Lifted Me” by Elevation Worship

My sisters and I love jamming out to this song in the car because it brings such a joyful vibe and reminds us of all God has brought us through.  It is definitely one that gets stuck in my head, and I don’t even mind. 🙂

“Heaven” by Passion

This is another song I’ve had in my head the past couple of days.  I love the declaration in its lyrics” “I wanna see heaven/so let your kingdom come!”  There is so much truth in the words of this song.

“Lo Harás Otra Vez/Do It Again” by Elevation Worship

I like to mix up my playlist and throw in some Spanish songs as well.  I’m far from fluent in Spanish, but I did take a couple years of it in high school, so combining that limited knowledge with knowing the song in English helps me know what I’m singing. 🙂 I find that I concentrate on the words and what they mean more when they’re in another language, and this helps me to really focus on what I’m singing to God and sing from my heart instead of from habit.

And that’s it! Let me know in the comments below if you would like to see more personal, behind-the-scenes get-to-know-me posts like these.
