Be Bold

Be Bold is a new release by Tyndale Publishers of a tweens’ inspirational coloring book.  This coloring book is more of a half coloring book, half devotional.  Each page layout has a devotional on one side and then a corresponding coloring page next to it.  I do kinda wish that the corresponding coloring page was on the back/front of the devotional so that if you wanted to tear it out and give it to encourage a friend, you could.  Additionally, I wish the pages were perforated so that you could actually tear and give them out! The pages are thick enough to bear down on when coloring without ripping them, and while the Amazon description lists that there are 80 pages, potential buyers should be aware that are 12 journal pages and 1 advertisement page at the end, so you are really only getting about 30 inspirational coloring pages once you total up the pages used for devotionals, journaling, and advertising.  With that said, I thought the devotionals were very inspirational and the drawings creative (albeit busy).  This would be a great gift for tween and teen girls though, with the doodle-style drawings to color in that help you to meditate on the devotionals’ messages while you let your creative juices flow.  I think this is a cute, fun gift to encourage girls to study the word of God.

Thank you to Tyndale Publishers for providing me with a copy of this book to review.  All opinions are my own and were not required to be positive.
